2nd part of reply to "Squad Game"

Having a lot of players certainly brings difficulties, and you rightly point out that it is something that has only happened this year. Setting up a third team is an option that the committee has already discussed but it is too late for this season. A third team would also bring logistical problems, as they would have to take part in a different league as the 1sts and 2nds. The committee have also discussed other options to try to keep those not playing regularly involved in the team. Any suggestions anyone else has would be welcomed. The new players representative will be announced shortly and should help bring concerns/suggestions to the committee. In the mean time. please feel free to speak to either manager or any committee member. Whilst i recognise that the guestbook is a useful forum to express concerns,  "Squad Game" remaining anonymous does not allow for a fuller discussion.

A few final points - The fact that there are so many players should come as a wake up call to those that do play on a regular basis. There are plenty of players competing for YOUR place!!!! Make sure that you are putting in the effort and contributing positively to your team. For those that aren't involved as much as they would like - keep making the effort.

Over 60 players registered - only 15 at training last Monday - only a few with genuine reasons or who bothered to let me know.

Reply to "Squad Game's guestbook entry.

Some very valid points "squad game".

The massive squad that you noticed yesterday has given me some serious headaches for most of the season. As I have said to many people, on numerous occasions, I don't think any Newtown Forest manager has had to text so many players on a Friday night to tell them that they are not in the squad for a Saturday. Unfortunately, this is something that I have had to do since the season began. The decision as to who plays and who doesn't is not taken lightly, and disappointing players is not something that I enjoy, but it has become a harsh reality.

Putting a cap on the number of players we register is something that I have considered. However, I have come to the conclusion that restricting numbers would be detrimental to the club. To turn players away could mean we miss out on adding talent to either team. As both teams league positions imply, we are not as strong as other teams in our leagues. Turning players away is not a luxury we can afford. Whilst an increase in numbers inevitably means that some players do not get the game time they think they deserve, surely competition for places must be welcomed. The strength and quality of the squad must take priority. I for one want to see Newtown Forest become bigger and better. This is simply my personal opinion.

Guys... new club training gear is now available! !

Keith Hunter has sourced some good quality umbro gear from a reliable supplier.  Ross has added a new 'shop' section to the site where you can view and order all the gear.

All completed online orders will go straight through to Keith.  Orders will only be processed once you have given Keith the full amount due.  You will receive an email confirmation of your order.  Once the order is with the supplier your gear will arrive within 3 weeks.  Keith also managed to negotiate good discount so the price you see is much cheaper than their catalogue prices.

Get your orders in now!

Well done to Keith and Ross for getting this sorted.  Spread the word to other players and supporters!
